with pain she gets up early
heading for the market
trying to hitch a ride
with every step
every foot step
feels like "walumbe" is beckoning her
but the children
only them keep her head up
even though the children's " taata" sleeps the day away
she walks miles for her brood
this walk is a walk in brand new shoes
the hurt
the pinch of these imaginary shoes
eventually wears away
just like brand new shoes
